Over 60 participants from 38 local medical device organizations and government Institutions island-wide gathered at ACE Ideation Centre@ JTC LaunchPad had attended a workshop event on the “Chinese Medical Device Market Access” jointly organized by Esco Ventures and SPRING Singapore on the 28th of February 2017
The one-day workshop started off with an opening address on the Chinese market diversity and the sharing of personal business considerations of entering the Chinese market as a non-Chinese manufacturer by Mr. XQ Lin, CEO and Founder of Esco Ventures.
Our invited guest speaker Professor Jiang Hai Hong from the Shanghai Health and Medical Institute highlighted the latest Chinese medical devices regulations, policy developments and future trends in the Chinese medical device industry.
The workshop also featured a local Singaporean start-up company Mirxes which had shared their industrial encounters, experiences and struggles of establishing their company in China with the audiences.
In the afternoon, our second guest speaker Mr. John Li Qiang from Osmunda Service Group provided the audience useful insights on the latest medical device regulations as well as the strategies to prepare for regulatory approvals for Singaporean SMEs who intend to enter the Chinese market.
Finally, the SPRING ESCO Ventures Accessing the Chinese Market Workshop was concluded with the elaborations of Intellectual Property (IP) protections in China by Mr Desmond Tan from Davies Collisions Dave.
It was and eventful day. The workshop had provided useful insights on (a) Understanding, (b) Regulatory process requirements for Medical Devices in China, (c) Conducting Clinical Trials in China and (d) Owning Intellectual Property (IP) Assets in China to the audiences.
